The Detailed Alignment Design module extends the design capability available in the 12d Model Base and consists of the special 12d Model template modifier and string modifier operations which allow for the interactive design of the most complex civil situations. The modifiers include
- modifying cross-fall, width and height between chainages
- projecting the cross-fall between two existing strings onto design cross sections and strings
- widening out to an existing string
- creating cross sections at user specified chainages
- modifying the height and/or offset of the hinge string.
A separate Kerb Return function uses the grades and cross-falls at the ends of the kerb return (turnout radius) to automatically create vertical geometry. This enables the user to rapidly create and edit kerb return alignments and gives the ability to immediately see the effects of the entire intersection design.
The 12d Model Template includes the ability to automatically produce different benching arrangements based on the depth of cut or fill through one or more
strata.
