The countdown
is on for the next 12d Model International User Conference which is
being held on Sunday 11, Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 November 2007 in
Brisbane, Queensland.
With over 120 users already registered, this Conference will be even
bigger than the 2005 Conference!
The theme - Taming the Electronic Model - emphasises how 3d civil data
is not a pipe dream but is being regularly used by 12d Modellers in all
areas of surveying and design.
The Conference consists of three days on 12d Model, future 12d
directions, User papers, training sessions, hints and tips, and wish
sessions.
Each day of the Conference has sessions covering all areas of surveying
and civil design. There will be 12d developers' presentations, User
papers, birds of a feather areas, a Wishing Booth and much more.
12d developers, trainers, support staff and Distributors will be on hand
to answer all your 12d Model questions.
As each day of the Conference is different, it is recommended that you
attend all three days.
Some of the major events at the Conference are:
User papers - there will be a variety of User papers on interesting 12d
Model projects and techniques. This is your chance to see how other
groups, large and small, are using 12d Model.
12d Training sessions - detailed sessions covering important aspects of
12d Model Version 8 such as the super alignment, chains, drainage and
drainage analysis, surveying, visualisation, and customisation will be
given by 12d trainers. These sessions are designed to increase your
knowledge of 12d Model.
Birds of a Feather - one of the most popular sessions at 2005, this will
also be a feature of the 2007 Conference. Each day we break into smaller
groups so attendees can ask more detailed questions about any aspect of
12d Model. There will be special booths set up with 12d staff onhand to
demonstrate and answer questions on all areas of 12d Model including the
super alignment, drainage analysis, visualisation, surveying, surveying
instruments, plotting and 12d macros. There will also be a booth for
BricsCAD, a Wishing Booth and a Help Desk. This is your opportunity to
ask in-depth questions and see demonstrations on any aspect of 12d
Model. You choose which booths to visit and over the three days you can
cover all the areas of particular interest to you.
Wishing Booth - a booth for discussing and registering your wishes for
the future development of 12d Model. Many Wishes from the last
conference were implemented in V8 and the Wishing Booth is your
opportunity to influence Version 9.
Help Desk - a Help Desk will answer any questions that are not covered
by the other Birds of a Feather booths.
Hints and Tips - hints and tips to improve your 12d Model usage will be
given throughout the Conference.
Welcome Event - drinks and snacks will be served from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
at the end of the first day to give delegates the chance to mix with
other Users, 12d developers and trainers, and your 12d Distributor.
Conference Dinner - the three-course Conference dinner will be held in
the River Canteen on Monday 12 November. This is an excellent location,
within easy walking distance of the Convention Centre and set on the
Brisbane River.
Location - the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is on Merivale
Street, South Brisbane, Queensland. The entrance to the Convention
Centre is on the corner of Merivale and Glenelg Streets.
Parking - ample parking is available under the Convention Centre for $12
per exit. For this event, Car Park Number 1 off Merivale Street is best.
Accommodation - we have made block bookings at a number of nearby hotels
starting at $A 85 per night. If you require accommodation, please email
us as soon as possible at conference@12d.com for details on the hotels,
location, prices and contact details. All accommodation is the
responsibility of the delegate and is to be paid directly to the hotel
by the delegate.
The 2007 12d Model User Conference will be an excellent 12d educational
tool with the bonus of talking and mixing with the developers of 12d
Model, 12d Model training and support staff and experienced 12d Model
Users.
