| Version 8 Up and Away |
 |
12d Model Version 8 is now being shipped to
customers on maintenance.
The V8 Upgrade Seminars held around Australia, NZ, UK and Ireland
were extremely popular with the Brisbane Seminars having over 400
attendees!
Feedback on the new Version has been overwhelmingly positive with
the inclusion of many User wishes and powerful new features!
There was a sneak preview of V8 at the last User Conference but, as
always, the programmers at 12d have been busy adding many additional
features.
Some of the new features in 12d Model V8 are:
Sharing of models and tins, Chains to link functions and options,
multi-layer boxing and a new Create Roads with Continuous Design.
The Apply Many now instantly produces plan annotation, tadpoles,
longsections, cross sections, areas, volumes, tins and
visualisations.
The super alignment has speed tables, superelevation and widening,
and a powerful new referencing feature, computators.
For drainage, the network editor, plan and longsection plots have
all been upgraded as well as the drainage analysis module now
incorporating bypass flow and Ku/Kw values.
Popular interface changes include toolbar memory, inter-view
autopans, orbit and populators.
Survey has been enhanced with multiple field files, more graphical
edits and support for new survey instruments.
Other major additions include pavement overlay, quantities and for
visualisations, houses, an extrusion builder, a forest generator and
plan billboards.
For those with large data sets, a new 250 million point version of
V8 (Bigfoot) is available for 64 bit computers.
