12d International Innovation Awards 2018

The judges were very impressed with the amazing entries for this year’s Innovation Awards - 100 entries in the end, and judging was a near impossible task!

Thanks again to Calibre for coming on board as our official Innovation Awards 2018 Sponsor. We were so pleased to welcome you as an integral part of our event.

Congratulations to the team at Arup for their Overall Winning entry - amazing work! The Arup project used 12d Model for the design of road, rail and drainage, but the innovation entry was for also modelling in 3D all the areas that are traditionally only done in 2D CAD. That is, utilities, signs, kerbs, barriers, road side furniture, line and pavement marking etc. So a complete 3D federated model was produced, and many of the 2D drawings were then generated from the 3D model thus eliminating a lot of 2D drafting.

Niall Brady, Jarred Dickson, Jeremy Harrington, Darren Stewart, and Danny Wilcox have all received their certificates and other prizes, and will be part of our great campaign showcasing the winners over the coming months.

Congratulations to all our other winners, too:
12d Water - Duncan Whiteley of WSP

Surveying & Construction - Sam Cech of Tatras Consulting

Those who weren’t at the 2018 Technical Forum may not have heard about Lee’s special announcement...a winner from each category of the Awards, and one from each of the business category prizes, will receive one complimentary Full Technical Forum 2020 Package, instead of this prize just going to the Overall Winning Team!

See our website for more details, including a list of the Highly Commended entries for each category (and a special blog which includes comments on the Awards from Technical Forum delegates).

The standard of entries was especially high this time around, so all who entered should be very proud!
